Timrod Library Annual Southern Author Series
Best selling novelists Brad Taylor and Natasha Boyd will be the featured writers at the 21st Annual Southern Author Series sponsored in February by The Henry Timrod Library in Summerville.
Brad Taylor, a master of the military thriller and the creator of the wildly popular Pike Logan series, will appear on Sunday, February 4.Taylor writes from a position of authority, having served for more than 21 years in the U.S. Army Infantry and Special Forces, eight of those years spent with the counter terrorism unit Delta Force. A former Assistant Professor of Military Science at The Citadel, Taylor lives with his family in Charleston. His most recent novel, Operator Down, will be one of the many books he discusses before entertaining questions from the audience.
On February 11, Natasha Boyd will transport her audience to the pre-revolutionary Lowcountry of South Carolina as she shares insights into her novel Indigo Girl, Ms. Boyd's fictionalized account of Eliza Lucas Pinckney's efforts to establish indigo production as a mainstay of the local economy. A best-selling and award- winning author of contemporary southern fiction, Boyd turned her narrative talents to historical fiction in order to tell Eliza's story, the result being an irresistible page turner about love, ambition, betrayal, and sacrifice.
